Home Sweet Home

Robert Richardson Jr. and the R3 Motorsports crew head to the Lone-Star state this weekend to attack Texas Motor Speedway where Richardson's career began." I love coming home to Texas to race" Richardson stated. "It's like homecoming, you get to see a lot of your friends and family that can't go to all the races every week." Texas Motor Speedway was where Richardson began his racing career in 2002 in the Lonestar Legends Series. Since then, he has raced TMS in numerous series including the ROMCO Super Late Model Series (1 win at the speedway), Craftsman Truck Series, and Nationwide series.

"Everyone at R3 Motorsports has really focused on this weekend ahead. We have great equipment, motors, and crew members. It's important to get our car handling well early in practice so we can spend most of the practice in qualifying trim." There will be 51 cars attempting to qualify for this weekends O'reilly Challenge at Texas Motor Speedway. "It's a special place for me, and I've waited for this weekend for a long time. I've never felt more pressure on myself than I do right now" Richardson said. "We have to qualify on time due to running a limited schedule and not having the points to be locked in the field. But, i am confident that we will make the show due to my experience on the track. This will be a test of our mettle as a team."

Catch the R3 Motorsports team in action Saturday, November 1st as they compete in the O'reilly Challenge at Texas Motor Speedway. Live coverage of the race begins at 3 p.m. on ESPN2.
